Ogden Point Rescue Tow Caught On Video By Whale Watcher!Ellen Wood, Brian Daly and Coxswain Mike Deigan of Crew 4 were paged out code 3 for a Mayday call from a broken down vessel off Ogden Point on July 30, 2011. The wind was blowing about 20 knots from the South West and the vessel was being pushed toward the rocks fast. The crew acted very quickly and was able to hook the vessel up to a tow with only feet to spare, saving the vessel from major damage and possible sinking! Check out the video on the Photos & Videos page or on You Tube.
Station 35 Receives Recognition from Joint Rescue Coordination Centre!![]() Click to view
We are proud to receive this certificate of appreciation from the Canadian Coast Guard Supervisor at Rescue Coordination Centre for our response during last year's "Good Friday Storm". Many Auxiliary units were busy that day, and ours responded to a couple of calls in Esquimalt and Victoria during very poor conditions. Tom, Tim, Paul and Ainslie were the talented crew on call that day. However all our SAR crews and their supporters can share in this recognition as we stand ready to head out in any storm 24/7/365.
