Community Involvement & Events

The Victoria Marine Rescue Society is an active participant in community events, usually setting up a boating safety display and talking with the public.

We promote several safety-related programs, aimed at educating adults as well as children on safe boating awareness. Some of these programs are:

  • Pleasure Craft Operators Certification
  • Kids Don't Float Program
  • Pleasure Craft Courtesy Check (upon request)

During the course of the year, we can be found promoting Boating Safety and fundraising at events like:

  • Island Farms Christmas Parade
  • Capital Iron Display
  • Coast Capital Insurance Family Safety Fair
  • Buccaneer Day Parade
  • Timmy's Telethon - Port Angeles Canoe Paddle
